Cades Cove is in the Smokey Mountain National Park. You can park towards the entrance or drive on a one-way circular path around the cove but can get rather crowded with tourist wanting to catch a photo of a bear or dear. This dirt lane (i forget the name of it) cuts through the middle of the cove for people wanting a quick escape. Instead of continuing through, I turned around since I still had plenty of daylight and got back on the main path, which is where i spent the next 3 or 4 hours in traffic because someone got in an accident.
